Pragya is an organisation that firmly believes that a small group of people can make a big difference. If you do too, you are welcome to join us in our effort to create sustainable development in mountain worlds.

If you desire to work long-term for our mission, you could join us as a full-time member of our team. The Pragya people make Pragya and its development impacts. The Pragya people are a group of talented and committed individuals. We motivate them with great challenges and job satisfaction, with professional development and career growth opportunities. We enable them with a culture that elicits enthusiasm and initiative, an environment that catalyses responsibility and stretch. Our targets are steep and we need with us people dedicated to hard work, and with superior competence and professional standards of work.

If you would like to dedicate some limited time and effort towards the cause, you could work with us for a short, specific period. Our work is vast and requires a wide range of competencies that you could bring to us and activities that you could help us in. While you contribute to some of the world's greatest needs, you would learn a lot - about larger, more critical issues, about other peoples and regions, about development challenges and potential. You would take back with you a depth of understanding, a wider perspective - an enhanced capacity to contribute to any profession.

Whichever capacity you join us in, we would require a close fit with our organisation's values and culture, as well as our needs of the time. Some of the profile requirements that determine inclusion in our team:

* desire to contribute to the sustainable development of mountain regions
* respect for indigenous communities and their customs & beliefs
* secular, a-political, non-divisive stance
* drive, enthusiasm and target-orientation
* participative approach and equity & empowerment orientation
as well as . . .
* expertise in a specific discipline/area
* excellent physical condition, and ability to work in remote areas
* good communication skills, both verbal and written

You could consider a Long-Term Pragya Employment (LTPE) Option:

in the 'Core Team of Experts'

Drawn from various disciplines and interest fields, this team includes people involved in designing and managing the Pragya projects, in providing specialised technical inputs for the projects, and in fundraising.

in the 'Project Teams'

Each project has allocated project-specific staff, typically belonging to the region in which the project is located, who provide local inputs and facilitation, and also help the day-to-day administration of the project.

You could consider a Short-Term Pragya Involvement (STPI) Option:

as an 'Expert Associate'

External specialists from various disciplines provide expert assistance for Pragya projects and supplement the Pragya competencies, helping to take leading-edge technical knowhow to neglected areas and development needs.

as a 'Social Responsibility Participant'

Volunteers from any profession/sector desirous of working for a short period on a development sector project, towards fulfilling their social responsibility, may provide assistance on activities in their areas of interest/competence.

as an 'Intern'

Short-term projects may be carried out by - a) young professionals from various disciplines needing to carry out a short project in an organisation towards completing their academic requirements; and b) mid-career professionals wanting to learn about/acquire a perspective of the development sector.

Contact hrm@pragya.org with your resume, your desired discipline/area of work, and the capacity in which you desire to work with Pragya (LTPE/STPI). We will get in touch with you if we find a fit between our requirements and your profile and expectations.

Thank you for your interest.
